Bridge and Ivy Farms is located and situated in the picturesque village of Wickham Market, bordered by the River Deben.
Bridge Farm, based at Wickham Market, is adjacent to the River Deben in an area of natural beauty, and is owned by Guy Hayward.
Bridge farm comprises of 380 hectares of land, growing Wheat, Barley, Oil seed rape, Potatoes and Onions.
Around 60 hectares is grassland some of which is used for the production of haylage and hay for the livery yard.
Until 1999, bridge farm used to have a dairy herd of Friesian cows, but a decision was made to sell the herd and diversify.
The farm has changed greatly since the disposal of the dairy yard and is now running a successful business unit and rental enterprise, utilising several of the redundant animal sheds.
We can offer anything from a small office to a large warehouse.
In 2003 Bridge Farm constructed part of the farm for use of a livery yard, this is a DIY Livery with show jumps and menage to hire.
Liverys available full or part, and pony clubs. Properties available to rent through Clarke and Simpson Estate Agents.
Bridge farm is also participating in both Entry and Higher Level Stewardship schemes, introduced to protect water courses, encourage wildlife and benefit the environment. This has been achieved by planting wild bird seed mixes on land formerly used for arable production, and by leaving uncropped margins next to watercourses.
We are now offering CARAVAN/MOTOR-HOME STORAGE here at Bridge and Ivy Farms both indoors and outdoors. Indoor space is limited due to recent uptake – See Units to rent for more information.
